fullsizeoutput_12a97.jpeg

In 1978 the East Oakland Youth Development Center opened its doors. Its mission was to help disenfranchised young people receive the same training and opportunities as students from wealthier backgrounds. This commitment that the EOYDC made to the residents of East Oakland was a commitment that was first made by its founding father Robert B. Shetterly.

the project: design a mural reflecting principles and values of the East Oakland Youth Development Center inspired by and dreamed up with the youth of EOYDC and was made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Alameda Contra Costa Chapter of the Links and indispensable project management of Deirdre Celotto
